The following Red Hat Bug Fix Advisory has been published which may affect packages you have installed on your system.
RHBA-2018:2761 kexec-tools bug fix update
An update for kexec-tools is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.
The kexec-tools packages contain the /sbin/kexec binary and utilities that together form the user-space component of the kernel’s kexec feature. The /sbin/kexec binary facilitates a new kernel to boot using the kernel’s kexec feature either on a normal or a panic reboot. The kexec fastboot mechanism allows booting a Linux kernel from the context of an already running kernel.
This update fixes the following bug:
* Previously, in iSCSI multipath environments, kdump failed to establish iSCSI sessions and to collect crash dump. This update removes the entries for the “netroot” and “rd.iscsi.initiator” parameter from kdump command line to ensure that these entries are not duplicated if iSCSI configuration code adds them as well. As a result, kdump now establishes iSCSI sessions in iSCSI multipath environments and collects crash dumps correctly. (BZ#1614842)
Users of kexec-tools are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug. The system must be rebooted for this update to take effect.
